Na twee jaren zonder, nu toch twee matches. Kanye en The Roots. Dat waren ook de enige die ik had verwacht.

2010. Mooi jaar. Weet nog dat we het in onze vriendengroep vaker over de album top 10 van dit jaar hebben gehad. Meermaals door m'n vrienden belachelijk gemaakt omdat ik niet hun held Roc Marciano op 1 zette, maar Kanye. Moet zeggen dat ik MBDTF fantastisch vind, maar dat ik daarna vrijwel meteen helemaal klaar was met hem. Zowel muzikaal als persoonlijk sloeg ie wegen in waar ik liever niet kom. Soms productioneel nog wel iets leuks, maar verder check ik het niet meer.

Verder veel vette, afwisselende hiphopplaten in 2010. En Agnes Obel. Wat die er tussen doet snap ik verder ook niet helemaal, maar heb dat altijd een bijzonder en mooi album gevonden.

De respectievelijke beste albums van Arcade Fire en The National waren de veilige gok voorbij.

Verder was ik (naast Anathema dus) nog bekend met John Grant en met Angus & Julia Stone, maar verder dan 'wel aardig' kom ik bij beide niet en ik ben eigenlijk knap verbaasd (verbaasder dan bij een aantal van die andere albums waar ik echt niks mee heb) deze veertien jaar na dato nog door een collectief gedragen te zien worden.

Oef, helemaal geen enkele match. Ik had uit tactische overwegingen nog Agnes Obel overwogen om in ieder geval één zekere match te hebben, maar zelfs die zekerheid was er dus niet. Mijn Top 3 is zelfs door niemand anders genoemd: ik leefde in 2010 blijkbaar in een parallel muziekuniversum. Wel een hele fijne, want het was een prachtig jaar. Muzikaal dan, privé was het 't meest heftige jaar uit mijn leven.

Wel tof om deze te zien staan. Niet dat ik het zelf zo goed vind, maar Blackjazz is het favoriete album van m'n beste vriend. The Madness and the Damage Done en Fisheye vind ik wel best grave nummers. Rond 2010 begon ik aan m'n muzikale ontdekkingstocht en hij probeerde me op het metalpad te brengen, maar met weinig succes. Nu ja Kvelertak haalde, vooral dankzij het geweldige Mjød, toch nipt m'n top 15. Ik zie in jouw lijst nog wel meer bandnamen die ik enkel en alleen herken omdat die vriend er eens enthousiast over was.
