Even de spelregels op een rijtje:
* Maak een genummerde toplijst van platen uit de jaren '60 (en plaats deze in dit topic). Je lijst moet minimaal een top 10 zijn en maximaal een top 30 (een langere lijst plaatsen mag, maar ik neem alleen de bovenste 30 mee). Alles tussen een top 10 en top 30 mag ook en het hoeft niet per se een rond getal te zijn.

* De puntentelling is als volgt:

Dat is snel guys, of hebben jullie gewoon de lijst van vorige editie weer gepost? Ik ga er eens goed voor zitten, want zeker de 50's, maar ook de 60's lijst zal enorm afwijken van de vorige keer (2019) dat ik hier meedeed. De jaren '50 tot beginjaren '60 was de absolute bloeitijd van de jazz, voordat het werd verdrongen door de populaire- en rockmuziek. Hoe dan ook, het aandeel jazzmuziek in mijn collectie is de laatste jaren nogal fors gegroeid, wat uiteraard zijn weerslag op mijn lijst zal hebben. Leuk! Ben zelf nog wel het meest benieuwd welke platen er nu boven komen drijven. Ook ik hoop dat er meer jazzliefhebbers (Soledad, Sandokan-veld, AOVV en Dardan zijn bijvoorbeeld nog niet getagd, bij deze) zich melden hier met hun lijstjes.

Na veel beluisteren uit 1964 en 1965 voor de Jordy’s heb ik wel zin om nog even wat langer door te gaan en ook de rest van de 60’s beter uit te pluizen. Prima timing wat dat betreft.

Nee, zeker niet. Ik maak mijn lijstjes altijd zonder naar mijn vorige inzending(en) te kijken. Achteraf zag ik dat er deze keer best wat verschil is met twee jaar geleden.

In het verleden luisterde ik vaak een boel albums (opnieuw) alvorens een lijstje in te dienen. De laatste paar jaar heb ik daar helaas echt geen tijd meer voor. Ik baseer mijn keuze dus op de albums waar ik reeds bekend mee ben. Voor de jaren '60 zijn dat er bijna tweehonderd, waarvan meer dan dertig met een 4,5* of 5,0* score. Bij het opstellen probeer ik ook wel mijn huidige waardering mee te nemen. Ik heb deze editie bijvoorbeeld (voor het eerst) Townes van Zandt boven The Bealtes en Nick Drake geplaatst, omdat ik naar die eerste het laatste jaar meer heb geluisterd dan naar die laatste twee.

Als jij wel de tijd hebt om één en ander te ontdekken, geniet ervan! Ik hou je lijstje in de gaten, wellicht leer ik nog wat nieuwe jazz toppers kennen.

Mijn lijstje heeft veel overlap met die van de voorgaande editie. Sinds die tijd ben ik Let It Bleed veel meer gaan waarderen. Elvis is de hoogste binnenkomer en Velvet Underground de grootste stijger. Dat laatste album vond ik wat overgewaardeerd, maar het is toch wel een hele fijne plaat.

Twee jaar na de vorige editie is de topzes hier andermaal ongewijzigd. Verder wordt er hier en daar wat stuivertje gewisseld en komt de voornaamste dynamiek van vier nieuwe binnenkomers: een derde en een vierde Simon & Garfunkel op 14 en 28 (meer kunnen er echt niet meer bij), alsook The Who's rockopera (op 15) en, met dank aan een geschikt boxje, het debuut van Yes (op 29). Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. zal ook de oudste plaat zijn die ik ooit in een Chevylijst gezet heb. En hoewel er van de nieuwkomers twee uit 1969 komen, daalt de vertegenwoordiging van dit jaar toch met twee: Colosseum - The Valentyne Suite, High Tide - Sea Shanties, Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul en Strawbs - Strawbs zijn het slachtoffer van de vernieuwing.
