Ik heb wel eens het idee gehad om een YouTube-playlist te maken waarin je eerst mij over een plaat hoort praten (alleen de hoes en audio) en dat er daarna gelijk een track volgt. Dat is alleen best wel tijdrovend.

Spotify-playlist is geen probleem, dat kan ik vanaf volgende maand wel doen, weinig moeite.

Ja leuk, een selectie van 10 nummers uit jouw top 10, : ‘luister hier eens naar’!

Het gaat mij niet om informatie. Het is om eens een keer, iets meer van de muziekbeleving van users mee te krijgen. Wat raakt iemand, waarom dit of dat. Waarom daar naar luisteren.

Zo'n playlist maakt het iets persoonlijker, heb nou meer notie van jouw muzikale smaak en voorkeur. En ik neemt er iets van mee: 40 watt sun, Daniel Rossen en King Lizzard en wat een mooie nummer toch van Beach House. De prog rock heb ik niet zo veel mee maar toch, het is jouw bakje pleur.

Dat is echt een goed plan, als ik ergens deze maand weer een update maak zal ik er ook een playlistje bij maken.

Nou ik heb maar meteen de daad bij het woord gevoegd. Inmiddels is het al een top35 geworden met albums die allemaal een plekje zouden moeten hebben in mijn top10. God wat is het weer een heerlijk jaar!

Leuk om Akusmi en Sirom hier aan te treffen, Albums met een kruisje ga ik nog eens helemaal beluisteren, tipwaardig voor mij, zonder kruisje vind ik ook al erg goed voor top 10/20/30 of wat daar voor doorgaat, zeker goed muziekjaar,

Mijn favoriet van 2022 tot nu toe, magistrale progressieve folkplaat. Het schouwspel tussen de kronkelende gitaarlijnen van Rossen en het ongelofelijk gedetailleerde jazzy drumwerk van Chris Bear is om van te watertanden.
2. (2) Author & Punisher - Krüller
Author & Punisher heeft het op Krüller voor elkaar gekregen om een meesterlijke mix van fysieke vermorzelende industriële kracht en melancholische dromerige melodieën te brengen, verpakt in een gigantisch klinkend en zeer gelaagd post-apocalyptisch cyberlandschap.
3. (3) Beach House - Once Twice Melody
Een 84 minuten durend weelderig en dromerig pop-extravaganza. Er is geen enkele track die ik uit het album zou schrappen, en de constante afwisseling tussen meer "traditionele" dreampoptracks, grootse synth-escapades, weelderige cinematische nummers en dromerige folky tracks houdt het album van begin tot eind waanzinnig interessant, met Modern Love Stories als de ultieme track om al deze aspecten samen te brengen.
4. (NIEUW) Holy Fawn - Dimensional Bleed
Prachtige doomy shoegazende melancholie à la Jesu, met druilerige dromerige elektronische soundscapes en mistroostige post-metalpassages. Ook een aanrader voor liefhebbers van de vroege shoegazende M83, Alcest en Deftones.
5. (4) Artificial Brain - Artificial Brain
Complexe extreme metal met opvallend veel aandacht voor sfeerzetting in zijn onheilspellende dromerige sci-fi sfeer en melancholische melodieén. Het is een plaat die je langzaamaan bij de lurven grijpt met ontzettend veel lagen. Ook ben ik verzot op de productie, die lekker guur is, maar wel met heel veel definitie en detail.
6. (7) King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - Omnium Gatherum
Een caleidoscopisch album met o.a. psych/krautrock, synthpop, jazzrock, stoner/doom/sludge en hip-hop-tracks, en het vloeit waanzinnig goed als een geheel!
7. (5) Asunojokei - Island
Fantastische euforische, kleurrijke en dynamische mix van post-black, post-hardcore/screamo en shoegaze met een bijna jazzy flair in het samenspel. Enorme aanrader voor liefhebbers van Deafheaven, Astronoid, Svalbard, møl en Envy.
8. (8) Imperial Triumphant - Spirit of Ecstasy
Imperial Triumphant maakt een grootse en kronkelende mix van jazz/fusion, extreme metal, avant-garde en filmsoundtracks (Taxi Driver is als inspiratie genoemd, net als de sfeerzetting van Stanley Kubrick). Luxueus en verdorven tegelijkertijd. Denk Voivod, King Crimson, Mr. Bungle, electric-fase Miles Davis in de jaren '70. Ronduit indrukwekkend.
9. (6) Wormrot - Hiss
Wormrot speelt de grindcoresubgenregrenzen aan flarden op Hiss. Prachtige integratie van blackmetal, screamo en post-metal binnen het algehele geluid, en op een aantal nummers indrukwekkende vioolpartijen. "Progressieve grindcore"?
10. (9) yeule - Glitch Princess
Een ronduit fascinerend en bloedmooi dystopisch glitchend shoegazend artpopalbum dat een ongrijpbare buitenaardse fragiliteit tentoonstelt. Een aanrader voor liefhebbers van Arca, Grimes en Björk.
