1. Beach House - Once Twice Melody
Een 84 minuten durend weelderig en dromerig pop-extravaganza. Er is geen enkele track die ik uit het album zou schrappen, en de constante afwisseling tussen meer "traditionele" dreampoptracks, grootse synth-escapades, weelderige cinematische nummers en dromerige folky tracks houdt het album van begin tot eind waanzinnig interessant, met Modern Love Stories als de ultieme track om al deze aspecten samen te brengen.
2. Author & Punisher - Krüller
Author & Punisher heeft het op Krüller voor elkaar gekregen om een meesterlijke mix van fysieke vermorzelende industriële kracht en melancholische dromerige melodieën te brengen, verpakt in een gigantisch klinkend post-apocalyptisch cyberlandschap.
3. Binker & Moses - Feeding the Machine
Meesterlijke mix van jazz en electronic, die je brengt van explosieve free-jazzpassages naar heerlijke grooves en verstilde melancholische, bijna ambientpassages.
4. 40 Watt Sun - Perfect Light
Pijnlijk mooie slowcoreplaat (Red House Painters) met sterke invloeden van vroege post-rock (Talk Talk/Bark Psychosis) en singer-songwriter/folk (Nick Drake/Jason Molina).
5. yeule - Glitch Princess
Een ronduit fascinerend en bloedmooi dystopisch glitchend shoegazend artpopalbum dat een ongrijpbare buitenaardse fragiliteit tentoonstelt. Een aanrader voor liefhebbers van Arca, Grimes en Björk.
6. Keeley Forsyth - Limbs
Prachtige plaat met dronende melancholische soundscapes en diepgaande expressieve vocalen. Aanrader voor liefhebbers van Scott Walker (Tilt) en Nico (Desertshore).
7. Wilderun - Epigone
IJzersterke mix van progmetal, folk en deathmetal met smaakvolle bombast en interessante structuren die je constant op het verkeerde been zetten. Denk aan Opeth (Deliverance), Devin Townsend (Terria), latere Enslaved en Dream Theater.
8. Blood Incantation - Timewave Zero
De ''liner notes'' van Hidden History... lieten de invloeden al zien, maar nu heeft de deathmetalband echt een (dark)ambientplaat gemaakt, aanrader voor liefhebbers van Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze en Lustmord.
9. Grace Cummings - Storm Queen
Prachtige folkplaat die zeer dynamisch is in zijn ingetogenheid, en Grace heeft een ronduit immense flexibele lage stem à la Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux) met een meeslepende theatraliteit.
10. Fort Romeau - Beings of Light
Mooie mix van house en ambient die evenveel dromerig en melancholisch als dansbaar is.

Mijn favoriet van 2022 tot nu toe, magistrale progressieve folkplaat. Het schouwspel tussen de kronkelende gitaarlijnen van Rossen en het ongelofelijk gedetailleerde jazzy drumwerk van Chris Bear is om van te watertanden.

Author & Punisher heeft het op Krüller voor elkaar gekregen om een meesterlijke mix van fysieke vermorzelende industriële kracht en melancholische dromerige melodieën te brengen, verpakt in een gigantisch klinkend post-apocalyptisch cyberlandschap.
5. (NIEUW) Hällas - Isle of Wisdom
De band levert weer een prachtige bevlogen harmonieuze folky proggy hardrockplaat af, vol met zwierige twingitaarlijnen, kleurrijke synths en de heerlijke karakteristieke stem van bassist Tommy Alexandersson.

Ontzettend dynamische en veelzijdige stoner/doomplaat met een verscheidenheid aan andere invloeden zoals jazz, wereldmuziek, blues, blackmetal, psych en prog.

Yeule geeft in een interview aan dat er later dit jaar mogelijk een nieuw album verschijnt. "It's going to sound like emo for cyborgs.", maar wel meer akoestischer dan vorige albums.

Heel veel interessante zaken besproken in dat interview (over mode, over vooroordelen, over opgroeien in Singapore, over het mentaal belastende aspect) en ook enkele favorieten zoals The National, Mitski en Mazzy Star die genoemd worden.
