Iemand al een top tien?

Ik heb al wel een aardig dream pop album ontdekt, is gisteren uitgekomen.

Naar welke releaeses zijn jullie benieuwd? Ik kijk wel uit naar de nieuwe Efdemin.

Normaal heb ik wel enkele albums gehoord maar deze keer nog niks. De nieuwe Dez Mona, De Staat, Beirut en RY X lijken me wel wat en ik ben benieuwd naar het te verschijnen cover-album van Morrissey.
Verder eigenlijk niets waar ik enorm naar uitkijk tot nu toe. Ik hoop dit jaar op leuke verrassingen waar ik nog niet eerder van gehoord heb, 2018 vond ik wat matig.

Fool, de nieuwe van Joe Jackson is erg goed, ook Mozes and the Firstborn bevalt mij erg goed.
Ik ben benieuwd naar Within Temptation, die gaat ons verrassen, en White Lies.
Bij The Cure hoop ik gewoon op een goede plaat, het zou mogelijk kunnen zijn.

Grimes zal ook wel een nieuwe hebben dit jaar, en als We Appreciate Power indicatief is voor de kwaliteit v/h album, is het al een serieuze kandidaat voor mijn top 10 lijstje. Er is zelfs een kans op twee albums van haar dit jaar, omdat het een beetje een mess is, en ingewikkeld lijkt te zijn.

En waarschijnlijk heel wat albums die me momenteel ontgaan...

No-Man, het project van Steven Wilson en Tim Bowness, zou na tien jaar (Schoolyard Ghosts is van 2008) ook weer nieuwe muziek uitbrengen, las ik in Wilson's nieuwjaarsbericht op Facebook:

In the meantime the first new no-man music in more than 10 years is likely to be released in 2019. Myself and Tim Bowness have been working sporadically on a particular musical idea we came up with many years ago, something we knew would require a dedicated full length album to explore properly. We finally made a concerted effort to get it into shape earlier this year, and with one more push I hope it will soon be ready to release. It's music that in many ways sees a return to our roots as a synth-pop band, albeit with the conceptual sweep of our more recent albums.

En ook de Deadwing-film (met soundtrack) waar hij in 2003-2004 een scenario voor schreef met Mike Bennion, kent een nieuwe wending (zie zijn Facebookbericht van deze voormiddag).

Wat een povere opening van het jaar. Enkel de bovenste 3 verwacht ik in de toekomst nog weleens op te zetten, al hadden die mijn top-10 van 2018 hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook niet gehaald. De onderste 4 zijn zelfs ronduit matig te noemen en dan heb ik er ook nog 6 beluisterd die nóg matiger tot slecht te noemen zijn. Wel veel vrouwelijke inbreng in onderstaand lijstje.
