Zo, op 17 mei begonnen we met de tweede editie. De 60s, 70s en 80s leverden gelijk al een nieuwe winnaar op, de 90s en 00s waren spannend op andere manieren. Nu rest natuurlijk de vraag: welk album is nou daadwerkelijk het meest geliefde album hier bij de vaste forumschare?

In een iets andere aanpak dan vorig jaar (gewoon om te kijken of er grote veranderingen optreden).
Vorig jaar was het zo dat men gebonden was aan een bepaald aantal, namelijk 20 of 25 albums. Dit jaar laat ik jullie zelf kiezen. Alles van een top 10 tot een top 50, en alles daartussen is toegestaan. Een top 12, een top 26 of een top 37? Jij beslist.

Waarom? Veel users maken hun lijstje obv hun stemmen. Op deze manier kan men hopelijk wat makkelijker knopen doorhakken en sowieso is de scheidslijn tussen de laatste uit het rijtje en de eerstvolgende dan ook wat duidelijker. Ten minste, zoiets. Of het ook daadwerkelijk lucratief is, zullen we onderweg wel ondervinden.

Over de puntentelling ben ik nog niet helemaal uit. Een 50 t/m 1-puntentelling zal waarschijnlijk niet werken, omdat het verschil dan te groot is. Ik zat zelf te denken aan iets als 60 t/m 11. 60 punten voor de nummer 1, 11 voor de nummer 50.
Indien men een top 37 inlevert, wordt dit ofwel 48-11, ofwel 60-23. Daar ben ik ook nog niet helemaal uit.
Enige feedback over het puntensysteem is zeker welkom.

Dat was het voor zover de nieuwe aanpak.

Voor de rest gelden nog altijd de oude regels, waarbij vooral de volgende regel extra aandacht verdient:
Met dank aan inquestos’ Excel-skills heb ik een Excel-sheet met veel vernuftige formules. Voor jullie verandert er in principe niks, maar de Excel-sheet vereist wel dat jullie de “neem de titel letterlijk over van MuMe”-regel erg serieus nemen. Excel werkt alleen met exacte matches en zelfs een apostrof of spatie kan er al voor zorgen dat het, zoals dat zo mooi heet, ONWAAR wordt. Kopieer en plak van MuMe of kopieer vanaf de eindlijst hieronder.

De deadline van het eindspel is een ruime, omdat ik a.s. vrijdag op vakantie ga:

Bij deze ook gelijk een oproep aan jullie. Een maand tijd zou toch wel voldoende moeten zijn om alle vriendjes en vriendinnetjes op te trommelen. Vorig jaar waren er iets van 120 deelnemers, geloof ik. Daar er bij de 70s 147 deelnemers waren, lijkt me (meer dan) 150 deelnemers toch wel een mooi streven.

En niet om bepaalde dingen te spekken ofzo, maar het zou mooi zijn als daar meer dan alleen rockliefhebbers tussen zouden zitten.

Wat een geweldige lijst, 43 albums heb ik minimaal 4* gegeven, de laatste 7 behoren tot de beste 3,5*-albums.

Ja hoor, daar heb je de verstokte Neil Young fan weer.


Zolang maar niet elke willekeurige toplijst een andere puntentelling krijgt maak je het jezelf (of mij) niet al te lastig. 60 t/m 11 lijkt me prima. Maar het kan natuurlijk ook prima getrapt zijn, bijvoorbeeld:
1: 120
2: 100
3: 90
4: 85
5: 80
6: 75
7: 70
8: 65
9: 60
10: 55
11: 50
12: 49
13: 48
etc

Want nu krijgt een nummer 1 positie maar 20% meer punten dan een nummer 11. Beetje weinig verschil.

Ik ga misschien, wegens mijn gebrek aan wiskundig inzicht, een behoorlijk domme vraag stellen: Het verschil tussen 60 en 11 is precies even groot als het verschil tussen 50 en 1, dus is het absolute verschil in toegekende punten dan niet precies nul?

Edit: een getrapt systeem zoals Inquestos voorstelt is natuurlijk een ander verhaal.

Daar heb je gelijk in, maar er zijn ook albums die niet in je top50 voorkomen, en die krijgen die 10 punten dus niet. Het maakt dus weldegelijk uit.

Om het wat makkelijker te maken:

Het verschil tussen 1 en 50 is net zo groot als het verschil tussen 1001 en 1050.

Album X: 2 maal op #50 & Album Y: 1 maal op #1.
In het eerste geval: Album X: 2 punten; album Y: 50 punten.
In het tweede geval: Album X: 2002 punten; Album Y: 1050 punten.

Met andere woorden: in het tweede geval is twee maal positie 50 meer waard dan 1 maal positie 1. Hier moet dus een gulden middenweg voor gekozen worden.

Maar is dat erg dan? Want wie zegt dat mijn nummer 11 niet (nagenoeg) even goed is als mijn nummer 1?
Maar elk puntensysteem is 'as goed as any', lijkt me.

Dit is het beste wat ik kan verzinnen. Nummer 1 gewoon 100 punten, in het begin iets meer verloop, want een toppositie moet natuurlijk wel worden beloond. Een nummer 1 en 32 positie zijn evenveel waard als een nummer 6 en 11. 4 keer op #42 is evenveel als een keer op #4.

En de vraag blijft natuurlijk wanneer is een systeem 'goed'? Waarschijnlijk als de meeste mensen zich erin kunnen vinden. Hoe meet je dat? Alle systemen uitproberen, alle uitslagen plaatsen en iedereen een cijfer laten geven voor de eindlijst. Dat is dus geen optie.

Wat mij betreft hanteren we dat systeem. We zien wel wat eruit komt. Als Dire Straits niet wint, zoek ik wel een ander systeem.
